How we designed the Product

The brief for Q-Robe was to design a cloakroom ticketing system that housed a thermal printer, custom interface electronics, an Android tablet and access to allow ticket reels to be changed.

Because the system is a vehicle for ticket sales, it is offered to customers at a very keen price.  It is also a relatively low volume product so it was important to keep development and unit cost to a minimum.

Cube3 developed a product that had a simple metal chassis with cost effective moulded covers to give the product a premium feel.  This kept the unit cost down to an acceptable level and tooling costs low.  Within the main unit, the tablet is also housed within it's own protective enclosure so that it can be used as a stand alone wall mounted unit for other POS applications.
